Our students in Mrs. Monell's 4th grade class kicked off the school year by choosing one motivational word to inspire them to have their best year ever!
After reflecting on their word and writing about why they chose it, students created bracelets featuring their special word. It is a daily reminder to stay positive, motivated, and encouraged throughout the year.

Our students proudly welcomed faculty to a special Pancake Party! 🥞 They put their real-world math skills to work by carefully measuring ingredients and using the correct proportions to make the perfect pancake batter. After cooking their pancakes, they added a delicious homemade berry topping for the finishing touch.
This fun, hands-on activity combined math, cooking, teamwork, and life skills while giving students the opportunity to share their hard work with members of our school community. It was a delicious way to build confidence, create connections, and make lasting memories!

Our elementary students had a blast last week as they teamed up with our preschool students for a fun science experiment! Together, they mixed up a homemade bubble solution and had so much fun blowing bubbles while exploring a little science along the way.
We would love to share our bubble recipe below so you can join in on the fun from home!
Bubble recipe: Combine 3/4 cup dishwashing soap, 1/4 cup sugar and 8 cups of water. Use pipe cleaners to make wands in different sizes.
Nothing says summer like homemade lemonade and freshly popped popcorn! 🍋🍿
Today, our students squeezed plenty of lemons to make a delicious sweet-and-tart lemonade before watching kernels magically pop in the air popper for a healthy, tasty snack. It was a fun day of hands-on learning and summer treats!

Today's Cooking Week recipe was fresh homemade salsa using ingredients straight from our garden! 🍅🌶️🌿 Students combined fresh tomatoes, peppers, and cilantro to create a delicious salsa while learning about healthy eating and enjoying the flavors of their hard work. Fresh from the garden never tasted so good!
We kicked off Cooking Week by making delicious homemade sorbet! 🍓🍌 Students blended frozen fruit into a refreshing treat that was the perfect way to cool off on a hot summer day. Learning has never tasted so sweet! ☀️🍧
Students became aerospace engineers as they designed and built paper rockets that could be launched from a straw! Following step-by-step directions from NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, students tested their rockets, measured how far they traveled, and recorded their results while exploring the science of flight through hands-on learning. 🚀📏

Our students participated in an engaging Water Safety presentation led by the team from North Jersey Aquatics. Through interactive demonstrations and discussions, they learned important water safety skills, including how to recognize hazards, make smart choices, and stay safe in and around the water.

Science got a little messy—and a lot of fun! 🧪🫧
Our students explored the properties of matter by making foam slime during a hands-on STEM activity. They practiced measuring, making predictions, following directions, and recording observations while discovering the science behind a fun chemical reaction. We even had Dr. Maffia, our new Director of Special Services, join in on the fun!
