A Bright Beginning ...

Happy new school year Falcon family!  We had an uneventful beginning--which is what we always hope for!  Students and teachers arrived, all smiles, full of determination and ready to tackle new concepts, make new friends and create a culture of purpose.

We have a very exciting year ahead of us as we have begun the discussion of making major upgrades to our campus and have a definitive strategic plan to help guide our priorities over the next five years.  I'll be reporting about both of these efforts routinely in my communication with you over the year (through letters, this blog, in-person meetings, board reports and the website).  I'm looking forward to being able to share the plans for improving our campus while we simultaneously remain committed to accomplishing the goals before us this year.

To that end, please visit our website often.  We've created pages for both the referendum and the strategic plan which you can visit by clicking the highlighted links.

So welcome back everyone!  I look forward to seeing many of you this week at our Back-to-School Nights (Wednesday, 9/13 for PreK-4 and Thursday, 9/14 for 5-8).  We'll have our first Parent Chat on October 5 and have invited Sergeant Tom Rich back to speak to you about cyber safety, a crucial issue that we appreciate your partnership in addressing.  Huge shout-out to our community partners, the Home and School Association and the Education Foundation who do so much to support and enhance our mission each year.  I hope you'll consider getting involved in one of these organization--they always appreciate more help.

My wish for everyone this year is that each member of our Falcon community sets purposeful goals and strives to meet them.  If you see me out and around campus, share your goals with me and let me know how we can help you achieve them.  Our goals are shared with you in the Strategic Plan and I look forward to creating partnerships with parents, teachers and students to accomplish them.  Let's do this!
