Classroom News

This Past Month

Congratulations to all of the students on a job well done for the Wax Museum! The students both looked and sounded fabulous during their performance. The social media “Tweeter” pages and slides were also impressive! It was so nice to see so many family members and friends able to attend.

Science and Social Studies

In social studies we just finished our train tour of the northeast. The next lesson will be about the southeastern region of the United States. In science, the students are currently learning about Waves and Information. We will be looking at how radio waves are used to transmit information using both analog and digital signals. The students will practice with encoding and decoding information using Morse Code. Ask your children what they have learned!

Language Arts

We continue to discuss many important reading and writing habits through our MyView books.  They are finishing the second unit, Adaptations. In writing, the children completed their travel articles. Next, they will be researching endangered animals and creating an informational poster.

The students interpreted data using line plots and are working with fractions to connect them to decimals. Soon, they'll converting within the customary and metric systems. Students are encouraged to continue using Reflex Math at least 3 times per week.
