As  a School Counselor, Mrs. Giarratano's role is to help students succeed academically, socially and emotionally.  Her focus is on being visible, available and especially approachable to students and parents.

Mrs. Giarratano is available to respond to the needs of students of every grade level.  She will be heading up school wide programs such as Falcon of the Month, Caught Being Good and implementing bullying prevention programs.

Services for students with personal needs impacting progress within the school setting include school adjustment counseling, social skills support, small group counseling and "Lunch Bunches."  Counseling services are available to students through parent, teacher, or self-referral. Crisis intervention and referrals to outside resources are provided as needed.

In addition, the School Counselor chairs the Intervention and Referral Service Committee (I&RS).   This committee develops strategies to support students' academic performance in the classroom.

Lastly, Mrs. Giarratano serves on the Child Study Team as the School Social Worker.  She will be part of the evaluation process for Special Education and provide case management services.

You should always strive to do your best each school day.  Make a commitment to academic excellence.  Be a positive role model and be open and understanding when interacting with fellow students who may possess differing opinions and interests.
These skills will be of great value to you now and in the future!
